A parapet, which completes vision glass in a curtain wall, is used to hide structural and mechanical elements of the building. Parapets may be chosen in a way that they are in harmony with vision glass of the building or in contrast to them. The harmony between vision glass and parapet glass is examined with a “mock-up” mechanism, which is established before placing an order.
Parapet glass requiring a special attention may be produced in a couple of ways according to measurements and targets of the design. All glass for parapets and façade cladding panels must be thermally treated (partially or fully tempered) to prevent a thermal break in glass.
Single parapet solutions
Reflective solar control coated heat-treated single glass are made translucent through a special black polyester film attached on the coated 2nd layer and become a parapet pane.
Enameled parapet panels
Enameled panels are produced by enameling and tempering clear or body tinted float glass by using RAL colors and are a good solution if contrast is desired between vision and parapet glass colors. Enameled tinted glass can be used successfully as façade cladding glass with their rich color options by having the print appear on the 2nd surface.
